“Theodore Bikel: In The Shoes of Sholom Aleichem”

Sholom Aleichem was a pioneer of modern Jewish literature and gave us stories that brought us into the world of pre-war Eastern European Jewish life. Of course , most people recall his Tevye, the Milkman, who became the main character in “Fiddler on The Roof” ( a part that Bikel played more than 2,000 time sin his illustrious career.

Narrated by film star, Alan Alda, “Theodore Bikel: In The Shoes of Sholom Aleichem” will weave together the lives of two beloved icons of The Jewish Community.

This is an exciting event that will take place at Spertus Institute for Jewsih Learning and Leadership, located at 610 South Michigan Avenue on Sunday, February 8th at 2 p.m.. There will be a post screening discussion led by music critic Andrew Patner (Chicago Sun-Times and WFMT Chicago).
