“Built To Amaze”- The Greatest Show on Earth!

Alex and Irina1As the autumn leaves begin their change of color and start to blow in the wind, Chicago area residents know that it is soon time for Ringling Bros. and Brnum & Bailey to bring us their new version of “The Greatest Show On Earth” also known as THE CIRCUS!. This year they will bring us a brand new show called “Built To Amaze!- a show filled with high energy, hi-jinx and of course great fun for “children of all ages”!

“Built To Amaze!” opens with the all-access pre-show where audience members can join the fun and meet the performers as they prepare for the show. There will be a tug-of-war, a battle between the boys and girls of the troupe ( and the audience). Part of what this year’s show is all about is just that: boy power versus girl power. During the pre-show, audience members can also try on costumes, learn some dance moves, some circus skills or just clown around. You also have a chance to win a work of art created by Asia, Ringling Bros. very own painting Elephant.

Under the leadership of Ringmaster Andre McClain, we will watch the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey troupe construct The Greatest Show On Earth featuring more than 110 of the worlds best performers from 17 countries along with 95 exotic and domestic animals including the comedic animal presenting duo of Alex and Irina Emelin of Russia- their unique acts of comedy, animals and magic will amaze and astound each and every member of your family.

There are many new features in this “Built To Amaze” edition, a tower of tumblers,(from the Ukraine) and of course many of the regular circus acts that have please audiences for generations. Just as you are seeing these young performers with perhaps your grandparents, they, as kids, watched the grandparents of these performers do the same type of act many years ago. The “circus” is a family gathering spot for both performers and the audiences that witness the special feats.

This year, thanks to The Feld Entertainment Group ( the producers are now the third generation themselves), you will get to witness “The Greatest Show on Earth” at either The Allstate Arena in Rosemont  November 1st rthru the 11th or at The United Center, from November 2oth thru December 1st. Better yet, you can see the show twice!

Tickets start at just $15 ( about the pice of a movie ticket) and while they go up to $25 are still one of the best entertainment values around the town. For information or to purchase advance tickets call either venue:
