Get ready for “Kinky Boots, the musical”

With a young and spirited cast of actors who all feel the love that the authors have brought to the table along with Director/Choreographer Jerry Mitchell ( who has a very special relationship with the theater itself, back when it was The Shubert) it appears that all systems are GO and starting Tuesday night, the 2nd, Monroe Street will be abuzz with some very "Kinky Boots"

Chicago’s reputation for GREAT theater audiences continues to grow as we were recently told by both Cyndi Lauper and Harvey  Fierstein, the creators of the World Premier- PRE BROADWAY new musical.”Kinky Boots, The Musical” which will open Tuesday, October 2nd at The Bank Of America Theatre through November4Th. As is the custom with pre-Broadway shows, they will wait a few weeks for the reviewers to come have a look. This allows them to work out any technical kinks and do re-writes that they think are needed before hitting Broadway.

“Kinky Boots”  is a movie that has quite a cult following about a young man who is forced to assume full responsibility of his family’s show factory in Northwest England following the death of his father. He has no desire to do so and no idea as to what he can do to save the factory and the jobs of all the employees he has known all his life. He meets a drag performer named Lola who shows him some very special shoes that are much in demand, but there is a lack of product and so together they revitalize the failing business, transform the entire community and save a town.
